Delhi Police launched an early morning operation to shift climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital, citing medical concerns and compliance with a High Court order. The operation, carried out in three phases, involved plainclothes officers, CRPF, RAF personnel, and senior police officials to minimize disruption. While police said the transfer was peaceful and necessary due to Wangchuk’s deteriorating health, protesters alleged they were not informed beforehand and claimed several people were injured during the scuffle. Following Wangchuk’s removal, his aide Abhijit Dipke announced he would continue the protest through an indefinite hunger strike.
