Indian badminton star PV Sindhu scripted history by winning her first-ever Japan Open title after defeating home favourite Akane Yamaguchi 21-17, 21-17 in the BWF Super 750 final. The two-time Olympic medallist became the first Indian shuttler to lift the prestigious tournament and ended a title drought of more than two years. Sindhu controlled the match with aggressive attacking play, sharp net skills, and composure during crucial moments to outclass the three-time world champion. The landmark victory marks Sindhu’s biggest title since the 2019 World Championships and provides a major boost ahead of the upcoming international badminton season.
