Yogi Adityanath Assures Security, Urges Kanwariyas to Maintain Discipline During Yatra

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured Kanwar Yatra pilgrims that the state government is fully committed to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and well-organized pilgrimage. Addressing a public gathering in Shamli during the inauguration of development projects worth over ₹581 crore, the Chief Minister said the administration and security forces are working together to provide all necessary support to devotees throughout the annual yatra.

Speaking to thousands of pilgrims and local residents, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the Kanwar Yatra is not just a religious tradition but also a symbol of faith, devotion, and discipline. He urged devotees to uphold the values of Lord Ram’s maryada (dignity and righteousness), Lord Krishna’s teachings, and Lord Shiva’s simplicity and humility while participating in the pilgrimage.

The Chief Minister appealed to Kanwariyas to remain calm and avoid arguments or unruly behavior over minor issues during the journey. He stressed that maintaining peace, mutual respect, and discipline would ensure the pilgrimage remains a positive and spiritually enriching experience for everyone involved.

Yogi Adityanath also cautioned against anti-social elements who, he alleged, may attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the Kanwar Yatra. He assured devotees that the Uttar Pradesh Police and district administration have made extensive security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents. Surveillance systems, traffic management plans, medical facilities, and emergency response teams have been deployed along major Kanwar routes to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims.

The Chief Minister praised the dedication of officials, police personnel, and volunteers who are working around the clock to facilitate the smooth conduct of one of North India’s largest religious gatherings. He also called upon citizens to cooperate with the administration and extend support to pilgrims wherever possible.

The Kanwar Yatra attracts millions of Lord Shiva devotees every year, who travel long distances to collect holy water from the Ganga and offer it at Shiva temples during the holy month of Shravan. With large crowds expected throughout the pilgrimage, the state government has intensified security and public service measures across multiple districts.

Yogi Adityanath reiterated that the government remains committed to protecting both the spiritual significance and peaceful atmosphere of the Kanwar Yatra. He urged devotees to make the pilgrimage a symbol of faith, harmony, and discipline while respecting public order and helping ensure the event concludes safely and successfully.
