Some cases don’t stay buried, no matter how long the silence lasts. The mysterious death of Disha Salian — Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager — is back in the headlines, and this time, the CBI is involved.
A Case That Was Never Really Closed
On June 8, 2020, 28-year-old Disha Salian died after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad, Mumbai. Just six days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra home. The eerie proximity of the two deaths sparked years of speculation, conspiracy theories, and demands for a deeper investigation — demands that, for the most part, went unanswered.

Disha’s death was initially recorded by Mumbai Police as an Accidental Death Report. But her father, Satish Salian, never accepted that conclusion. He has since filed petitions in the Bombay High Court alleging that his daughter was brutally assaulted and murdered, followed by what he calls a politically motivated cover-up. He has also sought the questioning of Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray in connection with the case.
The CBI Steps In
After years of legal battles, the Bombay High Court finally ordered the CBI to register an FIR and conduct a full investigation into Disha Salian’s death. For many who have followed the case since 2020 — often calling themselves “SSRians” — this order felt like a long-awaited crack in a story that had gone cold.
Shweta Singh Kirti Speaks Out
Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, has been one of the most consistent voices demanding truth and accountability in her brother’s case over the past six years. Reacting to the High Court’s decision, she wrote: “Truth has its own power… it can be suppressed for some time, troubled, but it cannot be defeated. May Krishna be our guide. Truth alone triumphs.”
Now, with the CBI’s investigation gaining momentum, Shweta has turned her attention to a new name connected to the case: former Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze. She has publicly urged Vaze to come forward and share any evidence he may have with the CBI, as the agency works to piece together what really happened to Disha Salian — and whether it connects, in any way, to her brother’s death days later.
Why This Matters Now
Sachin Vaze is no stranger to controversy himself, having previously faced scrutiny in separate corruption and conspiracy cases involving Mumbai Police. His potential role in the Disha Salian case, and whether he possesses evidence relevant to the CBI’s probe, remains to be seen.
For the Salian and Rajput families — and for the millions who have followed this case online for years — this moment represents something rare: a real chance at official answers, delivered not through social media theories, but through a formal, court-ordered federal investigation.
Six years on, the questions haven’t gone away. Now, for the first time, there’s a real process trying to answer them.
